The THESEUS Visiting Professorship was founded in 2007 at the University of Cologne. The objective of the professorship is to reinforce cooperation in the field of European integration research. It addresses each year scholars with a focus on European integration. He or she is supposed to analyse and assess academic, political, social, economic or cultural dimensions of European integration.

Each year the visiting professor teaches one Master seminar (in English, French or German) at the University of Cologne. The inaugural lecture aims at disseminating the transnational research discourse beyond the academic community to the interested public. The visiting scholar will be closely involved in the cultural and political life of the university and the city of Cologne.
